Our Team

As a young girl I always wanted to be in the medical field I just didn’t know what field until I was in Year 12. I decided to go to TAFE and do dental assisting and radiography, as much as I enjoyed it I knew I wanted to do more to help people especially children and I had more to give.

I then went to Curtin University to complete my degree and became a dental therapist.

What I love about my job is that I get to do what I love everyday and at the same time I’m helping, and educating these beautiful children about the importance of oral health.

I’m a mum of two beautiful girls and I know how important it is to educate them on why we have to look after our teeth and the importance of a healthy diet. I believe if we can educate the little ones well enough at a very young age it will prevent many future dental problems for them.

That’s why Dr Michael Shams and myself decided to start Daycare Dental. It’s to improve their knowledge about oral health and to teach them the techniques of brushing, in an environment that’s familiar and comfortable.

Leaving a lifetime positive dental experience.

“Helping to make a positive change in people’s lives is the most fulfilling part of my job. Preventing dental issues is always much easier than fixing them!”

My Journey to Dentistry

Dr Shams has a wealth of dentistry knowledge and experience and has been practicing dentistry for almost 20 years.

“From a young age, I liked to draw and use my hands. My favourite subjects were the more technical ones like math and chemistry.

Dentistry involves all these aspects, from creating things for my patients to different calculations.”

Dr Mike attended the University of Western Australia‘s School of Dentistry, graduating in 2002 at the young age of 22.
